Ukrainian president’s US visit aimed at ensuring more aid, Russian diplomat says
According to Maria Zakharova, Vladimir Zelensky will in fact try "to persuade the White House to take better care of Ukraine than of the American people"
MOSCOW, December 12. /TASS/. Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky will try to persuade Washington to continue funding Ukraine during his visit to the US, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said at a briefing.
"While heated discussions are underway at the US Congress, Zelensky will once again beg his masters - actually, the producers of his tragicomic show - not to end their generous funding of the Kiev regime," the diplomat pointed out.
According to her, Zelensky will in fact try "to persuade the White House to take better care of Ukraine than of the American people."
There is another reason behind Zelensky’s trip, Zakharova went on to say. "Ukrainian Telegram channels report that it was necessary to finalize the move to place of all of Ukraine’s enterprises, lands and mineral resources under the management of the BlackRock multinational company in exchange for its assistance to Kiev in getting another major package of military aid," the Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman explained.
Zelensky understands that "Ukraine will never be the same again," Zakharova noted. "He only cares about his one political future and, in fact, his own survival. It is simply impossible that without money and US support," the Russian diplomat concluded.
