Caracas to enter into strategic alliance with Moscow, top Venezuelan diplomat announces
According to Sergey Melik-Bagdasarov, the current situation in the Latin American region will be discussed at the meeting
CARACAS, December 7. /TASS/. Venezuelan Foreign Minister Yvan Gil Pinto announced that his country is entering into a strategic alliance with Russia and addressed the further development of bilateral relations, following a meeting with Russian Ambassador to Venezuela Sergey Melik-Bagdasarov.
"We held a meeting with Russian Ambassador to Venezuela Sergey Melik-Bagdasarov, during which we confirmed the strategic alliance between the two countries on issues of mutual interest for both bilateral and multilateral relations," the Venezuelan foreign minister said on his X (formerly Twitter) social media page. "At the meeting, we also discussed the current situation in the [Latin American] region and the efforts of Bolivarian peace diplomacy to ensure the stability and prosperity of our nations," the Venezuelan foreign minister said.
Earlier, Venezuelan Ambassador to Russia Jesus Rafael Salazar Velasquez informed TASS about the anticipated visit of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro to Moscow later in December.
