Russian military attache in Israel meets with Russian freed from Gaza, his family
The family "expressed their sincere gratitude to Russia for their ongoing efforts to free the Russian citizens held in the Gaza Strip and all hostages," the embassy added
TEL AVIV, November 28. /TASS/. Colonel Vladimir Gerasimenko, military, air and naval attache at the Russian Embassy in Israel, has met with Russian and Israeli citizen Ron Krivoy, who was released from the Gaza Strip, as well as his parents, the embassy's press service reported.
According to the embassy, the meeting was held on November 27. "V. N. Gerasimenko warmly welcomed R. O. Krivoy. He made sure that he was in satisfactory condition. He wished him a quick and full recovery of health and return home. He emphasized that R. O. Krivoy's release was made possible by the active joint efforts of the Russian Foreign and Defense Ministries. He assured that our country will continue to seek the safe recovery of all our compatriots held in the Gaza Strip," the statement said.
Krivoy and his parents "expressed their sincere gratitude to Russia for their ongoing efforts to free the Russian citizens held in the Gaza Strip and all hostages," the embassy added.
On November 26, Israeli military and intelligence officials escorted a group of four hostages released from the Gaza Strip to Israel. According to Israel's Channel 12 television, the group included three Thai nationals and Ron Krivoy, who holds Israeli and Russian citizenship. A total of 17 hostages were released that day. The first group of 13 Israelis - women and children - then traveled to Israel separately, taking a different route. In exchange, Israeli authorities released 39 Palestinian minors from prisons.
The Russian Foreign Ministry earlier confirmed Ron Krivoy's Russian citizenship. Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova told TASS that the release of the Russian citizen occurred off the exchange list due to the efforts of Russian diplomats in contact with the Palestinian Hamas movement.
