According to the Russian leader, establishing a sovereign Palestine on 1967 borders is seen as a key condition for a comprehensive, long-lasting and fair peace between Palestine and Israel
MOSCOW, November 28. /TASS/. Establishing a sovereign Palestine on 1967 borders is key to resolving the conflict between Palestine and Israel, Russian President Vladimir Putin said in a message to Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas.
"Now that the blood-shedding conflict causes untold suffering to the people of Palestine, I find it especially important to reaffirm Russia’s consistent support to the implementation of the legitimate rights of your people to establish a sovereign state on 1967 borders," Putin said in his message on the occasion of International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People. At the event, the message was read out by Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov.
According to the Russian leader, "this (establishing a sovereign Palestine on 1967 borders - TASS) is seen as a key condition for a comprehensive, long-lasting and fair peace between Palestine and Israel."
"I am confident that, through joint efforts, we will be able to promote further the traditionally friendly relationship between Russia and Palestine as well as mutually advantageous cooperation in various spheres," Putin noted as he emphasized that the work in this direction was in the two countries’ interests while taking place in the framework of strengthening regional security.
