In Ukraine US may step on rake of wars in Vietnam, Afghanistan
Sergey Ryabkov explained that the successful completion of the special military operation was "a decisive prerequisite for Washington to adjust its mode of thinking" accordingly
MOSCOW, November 28. /TASS/. Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov has not ruled out that the US authorities may "step on the rake of the Vietnam and Afghanistan conflicts" in the situation around Ukraine.
"The Americans will have to learn this lesson again, if they do not want to step on the Vietnamese, Afghan and any other rake," the senior diplomat said, adding that "in Ukraine such an option is far from unlikely."
In this context, Ryabkov recalled Washington's long-forgotten experience of the 1970s, "when the course of life itself made it recognize the opponent, albeit for a short period of time, as its equal."
Ryabkov explained that the successful completion of the special military operation was "a decisive prerequisite for Washington to adjust its mode of thinking" accordingly.
"Then fresh prospects will open up: both in terms of bilateral relations and in terms of arms control, which has been practically ruined, not to mention a return to normal ties between our societies and peoples," he concluded.
