Idea to hold Eurasian security summit makes sense in current situation — Russian diplomat
Alexander Grushko pointed out the necessity of united cooperation between the countries of the region to build a safer world order "based on the principles of sovereign equity, justice, legitimate interests"
MOSCOW, November 22. /TASS/. The initiative to hold a summit on Eurasian security is apt in the current geopolitical environment, as it will help strengthen cooperation between countries in the region, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko stated in an interview with Komsomolskaya Pravda newspaper.
"Today the world is facing large-scale political, economic and social changes," the politician said, noting that Eurasian countriesmust work together to tackle the recent challenges.
"In the current situation we are considering numerous ways to promote and strengthen such cooperation. The initiative to hold Eurasian security summit announced this year at the High-Level International Conference in Minsk on October 26-27 fits into this logic," Grushko added.
The senior diplomat pointed out the necessity of united cooperation between the countries of the region to build a safer world order "based on the principles of sovereign equity, justice, legitimate interests, revision of the subjugation policy and division into 'us and them,' which the West cannot abandon."
