CSTO still interested in Caucasus, group’s chief of staff says
"There have been no statements that Armenia is withdrawing from the Collective Security Treaty Organization. And no documents have been received in this regard," Colonel General Anatoly Sidorov underscored
MOSCOW, November 16. /TASS/. The Collective Security Treaty Organization is still interested in the Caucasus region, Chief of the CSTO Joint Staff Colonel General Anatoly Sidorov said.
"There is no talk within the organization that the CSTO has lost interest in the Caucasus region or that it is going to 'withdraw from Armenia,'" he said at a news conference. "No one even has an inkling of this."
"There have been no statements that Armenia is withdrawing from the Collective Security Treaty Organization. And no documents have been received in this regard. I personally have not seen any," he said. "Armenia had a somewhat limited participation in the joint events held in 2023 - but a country may encounter challenges - so it’s not up to us to discuss such decisions."
"They participate in legislative activities, in the review of the organization’s documents, and in financing the activities of the permanent statutory bodies. So, the process goes on," Sidorov continued.
