Russia, Venezuela working on mechanism to protect their trade — Lavrov
The Russian Mir card is already used in Venezuela and "its sphere of operations will continue growing," the top Russian diplomat noted
MOSCOW, November 16. /TASS/. Russia and Venezuela are paying great attention to creation of mechanisms protecting trade and investment ties of the two countries against the dictate of the West, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said at a press conference with his Venezuelan counterpart Yvan Gil Pinto.
"High attention is paid to creation of mechanisms, chains that will protect our trade-economic and investment ties against the dictate of the United States and its satellites," the Russian minister said.
The Russian Mir card is already used in Venezuela and "its sphere of operations will continue growing," Lavrov noted. "We are implementing the financial messages transfer system of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation at the corporate level in our relations, in servicing of our trade and economic ties. Furthermore, several Venezuelan banks already opened correspondent accounts with banks supporting the Russian-Venezuelan trade," he added.
