Israeli raids in West Bank hinder peace dialogue — Lavrov
The Russian foreign minister also noted that Cairo plays an important role in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict settlement
MOSCOW, November 16. /TASS/. Israeli army raids in the West Bank get in the way of moving the peace process forward, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said in an interview with RT.
"Let me remind you about the West Bank, where nobody has formally declared hostilities. But there are also raids by the Israeli army there, and this does not contribute to getting the peace process going and, in the end, (after solving all humanitarian problems) — to direct negotiations on the establishment of a Palestinian state," he said.
Lavrov noted that Cairo plays an important role in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict settlement. "Its capabilities as a state and a global player go beyond the Middle East and the African continent. Egypt is already a global player," the minister pointed out.
