MOSCOW, November 15. /TASS/. Russia continues work to bring home its nationals from the Gaza Strip, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters.

"The work continues there. The work there is indeed very hard both for the Emergency Situations Ministry team and for our diplomats," he said in comments on the progress of the evacuation.

Peskov said Russian rescuers, whenever difficult situations emerge, always extend their assistance to nationals of CIS countries as well.

"Our rescuers always, whenever they work in such difficult situations, help, naturally, both our citizens and all citizens of the CIS, and even any other countries, who ask for help. It is so, and it will always be like this, and that's why we are proud of our rescuers," the spokesman added, when commenting on reports that Russia is helping with evacuation of Belarusian nationals from Gaza.

The work to evacuate Russians from the Gaza Strip has been conducted by the Russian Emergency Situations Ministry together with Russian diplomats. The first group of 70 Russians passed the Rafah crossing into Egypt on November 12. Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova earlier said that more than 1,000 people have signed up for evacuation from the Gaza Strip, including Russian nationals and 300 minors. A Russian Emergencies Ministry's Il-76 airplane carrying the second group of 98 Russians evacuated from the Gaza Strip landed at the Domodedovo airport overnight. According to Russian Ambassador to Israel Anatoly Viktorov, about 100 Russians are expected to pass the Rafah crossing from Gaza on Wednesday.
