Russian forces repulse Kiev’s counterattacks near Urozhainoye over past day
It is reported that an operation is currently underway to mop up forest belts and ravines where there are remnants of Ukrainian militants
MELITOPOL, November 15. /TASS/. Russian forces repulsed several Ukrainian army counterattacks near Urozhainoye in the Vremevka area at the junction of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) and the Zaporozhye Region, eliminating roughly 70-80 enemy troops, Vladimir Rogov, chairman of the We Are Together with Russia movement, told TASS on Wednesday.
"In the Vremevka direction of the Zaporozhye front, all the attempts of the Ukrainian army’s counterattacks near Urozhainoye - and these are precisely counterattacks because our forces have the initiative - are futile and they [the Ukrainian military] have failed to achieve any results. Over the past 24 hours, the Ukrainian army’s losses amount to 70-80 militants, at least three armored personnel carriers and 3-5 vehicles for the transportation of personnel to the frontline, specifically, armored vehicles and pickup trucks," Rogov said.
"An operation is currently underway to mop up forest belts and ravines where there are remnants of Ukrainian militants. Artillery duels keep raging and the enemy has especially sustained losses in artillery guns and motorized artillery systems," the politician said.
The Ukrainian military has been making unsuccessful attempts to advance since June 4. As Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu said on October 30, the Kiev regime has lost more than 90,000 troops killed and wounded, about 600 tanks and 1,900 armored vehicles over this period. The Russian defense chief stressed that the Ukrainian military had failed to achieve any significant tactical successes.
Russian President Vladimir Putin said on October 15 that the Ukrainian army’s counteroffensive had completely failed, although Kiev was preparing new offensive operations in some frontline areas.
