Medics clear second group of Russian citizens for evacuation from Gaza

98 people, including 39 children, have left the Gaza Strip

MOSCOW, November 14. /TASS/. Another group of Russians who have been evacuated from the Gaza Strip are in satisfactory condition and can fly home, said Alexey Kuznetsov, aide to the Russian health minister.

"Today, a team of experts from the Federal Center for Emergency Medicine at the Russian Health Ministry and its federal health agencies examined 98 people who have left the Gaza Strip, including 39 children, of which four are under 3 years old, and two pregnant women <…>. The examination showed that all of them are in satisfactory condition as they have been cleared for the flight [to Moscow]," Kuznetsov told reporters, adding that medics will accompany the evacuees on board the plane.

Earlier, the group which had crossed from the Palestinian enclave to Egypt via the Rafah border crossing on Monday passed the necessary procedures at the headquarters of the Russian Emergencies Ministry’s operations team. Apart from Russian nationals, the group also includes Palestinians and their families, the headquarters told TASS.

The work to evacuate Russians from the Gaza Strip has been conducted by Russia’s Emergency Situations Ministry jointly with Russian diplomats. The first group of 70 Russians passed the Rafah crossing into Egypt on November 12.
