Russian-Kazakh treaty of alliance, neighborly relations remains relevant — statement
The statement was issued ahead of the 10th anniversary of the signing of the treaty
ASTANA, November 9. /TASS/. The Treaty on Good-Neighborly Relations and Alliance in the 21st Century that Russia and Kazakhstan signed on November 11, 2013, still remains relevant and allows for cooperation between the two countries to develop in the interests of their peoples, according to a joint statement by Russian and Kazakh Presidents Vladimir Putin and Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
They issued the statement ahead of the 10th anniversary of the signing of the treaty.
"Despite the rapidly changing geopolitical situation, the treaty retains its relevance, which makes it possible to actively develop cooperation between the two countries in all areas of life, as well as in the activities of regional and international organizations and associations," said the statement that was adopted as a result of talks between the two leaders in Astana.
The document stated that the implementation of the key provisions of the treaty shaped a model for advanced interstate relations that meet the interests of the two countries and their peoples and play an important role in ensuring international and regional security.
