EU blaming Russia for death of Georgian citizen part of political agenda — diplomat

MOSCOW, November 9. /TASS/. The EU has a hidden agenda behind blaming Russia for the death of a Georgian citizen on the border with South Ossetia, an agenda not based on facts, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said at a briefing.
Earlier, the Georgian State Security Service reported that a citizen of the country was shot dead by South Ossetian officers during an attempt to detain him near the village of Kirbali. Another citizen was reportedly detained.
"We are surprised by the EU’s position, which ignored the obvious facts and detailed explanations given by the Ossetian side. The most shocking thing is that Brussels is blatantly trying to shift the responsibility for what happened to Russia. These are politicized, one-sided, false assessments," she said. "All this shows the clear bias and involvement of the EU," she added.
