Russia not to give up Arctic LNG-2, other projects amid US sanctions — MFA
The development of LNG infrastructure is Russia's priority in the energy sector, Maria Zakharova stressed
MOSCOW, November 9. /TASS/. Moscow will not give up Arctic LNG-2 and other similar projects amid Washington’s sanctions, the Russian Foreign Ministry’s spokeswoman Maria Zakharova told a briefing.
"No one in our country is going to give up large-scale plans on that project, on similar projects. The development of LNG infrastructure is our priority in the energy sector," she said when asked how much the US sanctions against the Arctic LNG-2 project might complicate its implementation and disturb Russia’s plans to boost its share on the LNG market.
The Russian side "intends to boost LNG production to 100 mln tons per year," Zakharova noted, adding that not sanctions, but terrorist actions hinder the implementation of Russia’s gas, infrastructure projects.
