Israeli ambassador's statement about evacuation of Russians from Gaza shocking — MFA
Maria Zakharova stressed that Russia would continue to work in close coordination with all parties involved to evacuate Russian citizens from Gaza
MOSCOW, November 9. /TASS/. Russia finds shocking what the Israeli ambassador to Moscow Alexander Ben Zvi said about the likely dates for the evacuation of Russians from the Gaza Strip, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova has told a news briefing.
"We were truly shocked to hear yesterday’s statement by the Israeli ambassador to Moscow that it may take up to two weeks to coordinate the Russian lists. This is unacceptable, of course," Zakharova pointed out.
She stressed that Russia will continue to work in close coordination with all parties involved to evacuate Russian citizens from Gaza.
Earlier, Ben Zvi told TASS that the process of coordinating lists for the evacuation of Russian citizens from the Gaza Strip through the Rafah crossing might require about two weeks. He said the Egyptian side had set a limit of 500-600 people per day. The Israeli ambassador specified that there were about 7,000 in queue for evacuation at the moment.
