GENICHESK, November 9. /TASS/. Russian forces destroyed a US-made howitzer and amassed Ukrainian troops in the Kherson area over the past day in the special military operation in Ukraine, a spokesman for the regional emergency services said on Thursday.

"Dnepr battlegroup units inflicted damage on the enemy by firepower in the Kherson direction, destroying a Ukrainian military boat, an M777 howitzer with ammunition and amassed adversary manpower near the settlement of Krynki and in the area of Alyoshkinsky Island," the spokesman said.

The Russian battlegroup’s strikes killed 46 and wounded two Ukrainian soldiers, he specified.

In addition, Russian troops destroyed an enemy 120mm mortar with its team and ammunition near the settlement of Kizomys in the island zone and a Ukrainian fire emplacement in the Kakhovka direction, the spokesman said.
