Secretaries of CIS Security Councils discuss ensuring social, political stability

MOSCOW, November 8. /TASS/. The secretaries of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) security councils discussed issues of ensuring social and political stability amid growing hybrid threats at their annual meeting in the Russian capital.

Secretary of the Russian Security Council Nikolay Patrushev represented Russia at the event.

According to the press service of the Russian Security Council, special attention at the meeting was "paid to ensuring social and political stability amid the growth of hybrid threats, prospects for cooperation between states in the joint use and protection of water resources, and biological security issues."

Besides, the agenda included issues related to practical interaction between the countries through the Security Councils in bilateral and multilateral formats, as well as other topical problems of international security in the world and in the CIS space.

The press service of the Russian Security Council noted that the meeting showed the open and trust-based nature of joint work of high representatives in charge of security issues in the CIS countries in order to maintain peace, security and stability in the Commonwealth.
