Western aggression obvious, Russia's nuclear doctrine unchanged — Kremlin
Dmitry Peskov's comment followed a statement by Security Council Secretary Nikolay Patrushev about the growing risk of using nuclear weapons
MOSCOW, November 8. /TASS/. The West's aggression against Moscow is obvious, but there have been no changes in Russia's nuclear doctrine, Russian Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov has said.
His comment followed a statement by Security Council Secretary Nikolay Patrushev about the growing risk of using nuclear weapons.
Peskov said it was not quite correct to ask questions about the Kremlin’s attitude to such a statement.
"Patrushev is the secretary of the Russian Security Council, which is part of the Kremlin, of what is called the Kremlin. It is considered as the Kremlin’s statement, of course," Peskov pointed out.
"The aggressive nature of the so-called collective West’s attitude towards our country, demonstrated directly and indirectly is an open secret. It is obvious. This is officially and openly confirmed by representatives of the collective West. As for our country, we have our own doctrine, where everything is clearly spelled out. There are no changes. This has been repeatedly confirmed by the head of state. Everything is very clear," Peskov explained.
Earlier, Patrushev said that the West's destructive policy increased the risk of using nuclear, chemical and biological weapons.
