GENICHESK, November 8. /TASS/. Russian forces destroyed amassed Ukrainian troops in the Kherson area over the past day in the special military operation in Ukraine, a spokesman for the regional emergency services said on Wednesday.

"Dnepr battlegroup units inflicted damage on the enemy by firepower in the Kherson direction, destroying a Ukrainian army position near the settlement of Ponyatovka, amassed enemy manpower near the village of Krynki and in the area of Alyoshkinsky Island and an adversary deployment site near the settlement of Sadovoye," the spokesman said.

The Russian battlegroup’s strikes destroyed 41 and wounded another five Ukrainian servicemen, he specified.

Russian troops also wiped out a Ukrainian 120mm mortar with its team and ammunition in the island zone and an enemy D-30 howitzer with ammunition in the Kakhovka direction, the spokesman said.
