MOSCOW, November 8. /TASS/. Some countries seek to disrupt legitimate governments in Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) member states, Russian President Vladimir Putin said in a video address to a meeting of secretaries of CIS security councils.

"Global instability is affecting Eurasia, too. Moreover, the activities of some countries are directly aimed at disrupting legitimate governments in CIS member states, undermining social stability and traditional values, as well as our trade, cooperation and cultural ties, which have always been close," he pointed out.

Putin said that common threats such as terrorism, organized crime, drug trafficking, illegal migration, radicalism and extremism were still there, as well as economic, information, technological and biological security risks.

"Apart from a well-coordinated collective response, all this requires a lot of preventive efforts. It is particularly important to fully use the security councils’ capabilities to make forecasts and analyze information in order to deeply and comprehensively study the situation in the CIS space and the world in general, as well as to outline priorities and promptly adjust documents related to strategic planning," the Russian president stressed

Putin said with confidence that cooperation between security councils would continue to facilitate efforts to strengthen security and stability in CIS countries and develop coherent approaches in order to achieve common goals.
