MOSCOW, November 4. /TASS/. The Russian Embassy in Conakry, Guinea's capital, is watching the situation following the armed skirmishes, takes additional measures to ensure the safety of Russian diplomatic personnel and Russian citizens, the Russian diplomatic mission told TASS.
"The embassy is keeping a close eye on the situation. Local law enforcement agencies are in charge of the in the embassy area. Measures have been strengthened to ensure the safety of the personnel of the Russian diplomatic mission and Russian citizens temporarily and permanently residing in Guinea, constant contact is maintained with them through the consular department," the embassy said.
The mission said that armed clashes with automatic guns erupted on the morning of November 4 in Guinea's capital, Conakry. Earlier, Reuters reported that shots were fired in Conakry, citing witnesses and military department sources.
