Israel usually does not inform Russia about strikes on Syria — diplomat
According to Mikhail Bogdanov, Russia would only know about the strikes "after the fact"
MOSCOW, November 3. /TASS/. After the escalation of the Middle East conflict, Israel generally does not inform Russia about strikes on Syrian territory, Russian Presidential Special Envoy for the Middle East and Africa, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov said.
"They usually don’t inform us, as a general rule," the envoy said. According to him, Russia would only know about the strikes "after the fact."
Tensions flared up again in the Middle East on October 7 when Hamas militants staged a surprise attack on Israeli territory from the Gaza Strip. Hamas described its attack as a response to the aggressive actions of Israeli authorities against the Al-Aqsa Mosque on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem’s Old City. Israel has announced a total blockade of the Gaza Strip and has been delivering air strikes on Gaza as well as some parts of Lebanon and Syria. Clashes are also underway in the West Bank. On October 27, Hagari announced the expansion of Israel’s military ground operation in Gaza.
