MOSCOW, November 1. /TASS/. The West is likely to keep on with acts of sabotage and provocation against Russia, as was the case with the Nord Stream gas system and the Balticconnector pipeline, Russian President Vladimir Putin warned at a meeting on economic issues.

"What we are really worried about in an environment when the potential of sanctions aggression against us has actually maxed out is that the acts of sabotage, good old-fashioned acts of sabotage, on major global infrastructure may come into play," Putin said.

In this regard, he recalled the sabotage on the Nord Stream gas pipelines.

"We cannot rule out any acts of provocation, like the recent one when they tried to blame Russia for damaging the gas pipeline connecting Finland and Estonia. It (the gas pipeline - TASS) is insignificant, as the volumes are meager there, but still it is a fact on which they can somehow latch on to in order to slander us. Of course, such things may be used against us," the president continued.

"It is crucial to predict such risks in advance and to proactively respond to them so as to ensure the confident and stable operation of our enterprises, companies, and their workforce as well as the reliability of our foreign trade ties and logistics routes," Putin concluded.
