Maria Zakharova emphasized that "there is no military solution to the years-long conflict, which can only be resolved through political and diplomatic means and full-scale negotiations"

MOSCOW, October 26. /TASS/. Moscow continues its efforts to resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict as soon as possible, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said at a briefing.

She pointed to negative developments in the region. "According to the available data, nearly 6,000 Palestinians and 1,500 Israelis have been killed since October 7. There are over 2,000 children among those killed," the diplomat hotel. "We are extremely concerned about the military moves that non-regional countries are making in the Eastern Mediterranean. These factors, along with increasingly belligerent rhetoric from various parties, are raising the risks of the conflict escalating into a regional one," Zakharova said. "In this regard, we would like to once again highlight the need to ensure an immediate ceasefire, establish humanitarian corridors, carry out evacuations and release hostages," she added. The diplomat also recalled that the Russian Emergencies Ministry’s aircraft had delivered food for Gaza residents.

"Russia continues its efforts to resolve the crisis as soon as possible. We are in close coordination with key regional players and our BRICS partners," she pointed out. "On October 21, Russian Special Presidential Envoy for the Middle East and African Countries and Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov took part in the Cairo Peace Summit organized by Egypt. Together with constructively-minded partners, we are active in the UN Security Council, seeking an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip," Zakharova said.

The diplomat emphasized that "there is no military solution to the years-long conflict, which can only be resolved through political and diplomatic means and full-scale negotiations."
