DONETSK, October 23. /TASS/. Russian forces edged out Ukrainian troops in the railway area near Kleshcheyevka south of Artyomovsk (called Bakhmut in Ukraine) in the Donetsk People’s Republic, Yan Gagin, adviser to the DPR head, told TASS on Monday.

"Near Kleshcheyevka, our forces managed to edge out enemy units from the railway area. This frontline sector is vital in the southern flank of Artyomovsk," Gagin said.

The Ukrainian military suffered heavy casualties among personnel and military hardware at that frontline sector as a result of continuous strikes by Russian artillery, he said.
