MOSCOW, September 24. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin thanked members of Russia’s Central Election Commission for their courageous work to organize the vote in the country’s new regions, despite all challenges and threats.
"I would like to separately thank you for your great help and support in creating electoral commissions of the Donetsk and Lugansk people’s republics, the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions, for acting bravely, decisively, despite all the challenges and numerous threats," Putin said in a video address on the occasion of the Central Election Commission’s 30th anniversary.
Russia’s supreme election authority, the Central Election Commission, was founded on September 24, 1993, through a decree issued by then President Boris Yeltsin.
