G20 summit in New Delhi represents breakthrough — Lavrov

NEW DELHI, September 10. /TASS/. The G20 summit in New Delhi was a breakthrough in terms of efforts toward ensuring a balance of interests in the global economy, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov told a news conference following the event.
"The latest summit was a breakthrough event as it gave clear guidelines for achieving such goals [of ensuring a balance of interests in the global economy]," Lavrov said.
According to Russia’s top diplomat, the declaration, in particular, formulated the tasks of reforming the International Monetary Fund, the World Trade Organization, while focusing on the need for the West to deliver on its promises in the transfer of technology to the Global South and the provision of funds annually to help [those] economies counter the negative effects of climate change.
