Putin describes situation along line of contact as stable
"You can see for yourself that the situation is currently stable along the line of contact," he said
MOSCOW, August 23. /TASS/. The situation along the line of contact is stable, Russian President Vladimir Putin stated at a meeting with Acting Head of the Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR) Leonid Pasechnik.
Upon hearing a report from Pasechnik, Putin said: "The goals that you mentioned are impossible to achieve without resolving the main issue, that is, the issue of security."
"You can see for yourself that the situation is currently stable along the line of contact," the president said, addressing the acting LPR head. "Moreover, when I look at what the other party is doing, I get the impression that they don’t consider the people whom they are pushing into minefields and under our artillery fire as their own people. They act as if they weren’t their citizens," Putin said. "However, it’s their own business and problems," he added.
