MOSCOW, July 31. /TASS/. There is no exact date for Russian President Vladimir Putin's visit to Turkey, the leaders of the two countries will hold telephone talks on August 2, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters.
"No, nothing has changed since the day before yesterday, when [Russian President Vladimir] Putin answered this question. In fact, as Putin has said, the phone conversation [with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan] is scheduled for Wednesday," the Kremlin spokesman said when asked whether the date of the Russian leader's expected visit to Turkey had been announced.
Earlier in St. Petersburg, answering a question from TASS, the Russian president did not rule out a visit to Turkey, but said that a variant in which Erdogan would come to Russia was also possible. On July 21, the Turkish president announced his desire to hold talks with Putin in the near future on the situation around the grain deal. Kremlin aide Yury Ushakov said that Putin's visit to Turkey was planned by Moscow and Ankara, but the sides had not yet agreed on the dates.
