The head of the Russian Foreign Ministry called the opening of the Consulate General in Phuket "an important, but not the last step" to expand the diplomatic presence in the region
PHUKET /Thailand/, July 15. /TASS/. Russia plans to open new diplomatic missions in Southeast Asian countries, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said at the ceremony of opening Russia’s consulate general in Phuket on Saturday.
"Our plans envisage opening missions in other friendly [Southeast Asian] countries," Russia’s top diplomat said.
