MOSCOW, April 6. /TASS/. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov's program in Turkey began with an informal working dinner, Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova wrote on her Telegram channel on Thursday.
"Sergey Lavrov arrived on a visit to Ankara. Today - a working dinner is on the program, while talks are set for tomorrow," she blogged, uploading photos, one of which shows the Russian foreign minister and his Turkish counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu.
Lavrov arrived in Ankara on Thursday evening at the invitation of Cavusoglu. The Russian top diplomat is expected to discuss in detail energy issues, the situation around Ukraine, the implementation of the grain deal, as well as normalizing the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh and the dialogue between Ankara and Damascus.
As the Russian Foreign Ministry announced on Wednesday, ahead of the tourist season, the Russian and Turkish top diplomats will also pay heed to the safety of Russian nationals in Turkey.
