Ukrainians provoking Russian troops to return fire, says LPR officer
Andrey Marochko suspects that Ukrainian troops have been using new tactics so that Russian forces use more ammunition to no purpose, while the Ukrainians themselves save the ammunition they have been receiving from NATO countries
LUGANSK, March 30. /TASS/. Ukrainian forces have been reportedly provoking return fire from the 2nd Army Corps of Russia’s Defense Ministry in order to increase the idle consumption of ammunition by Russian troops, Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR) people’s militia retired Lieutenant-Colonel Andrey Marochko told TASS on Thursday.
"The enemy has been seen using new tactics in the area of responsibility of the Russian Defense Ministry’s 2nd Army Corps with the aim of provoking our units. While maneuvering in small groups, Ukrainian militants make themselves seen, moving toward our positions, then return to their previous positions and hide after fire is opened on them," Marochko said. "At the same time, the enemy opens low-intensity fire, mostly from small arms, without any artillery support," he added.
Marochko suspects that Ukrainian troops have been using new tactics so that Russian forces use more ammunition to no purpose, while the Ukrainians themselves save the ammunition they have been receiving from NATO countries.
