MOSCOW, March 27. /TASS/. Russian Ambassador to Libya Aydar Aganin is heading off for Tripoli where the Russian diplomatic mission will be restored to full capacity, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov told TASS on Monday.
"The [Russian] ambassador is heading off [for Libya]," said Bogdanov, who is also Special Presidential Representative for the Middle East and Africa.
Security guarantees for its diplomatic mission in Libya remain a priority for Russia, the senior diplomat emphasized.
Earlier, Bogdanov said that Moscow was planning to reopen the embassy in Tripoli and restore the operations of its consulate general in Benghazi, Libya’s second largest city, soon. Russia expects that the restoration of its diplomatic missions in Libya will help promote its economic interests in the North African country.
