It was the Russian president’s first-ever visit to Donbass
MOSCOW, March 19. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin has paid a working visit to Mariupol to inspect a number of locations in the city and talk to local residents, the Kremlin press service said on Sunday.
Putin travelled to Mariupol in a helicopter. He drove a vehicle along the city's streets, making stops at several locations.
During the trip, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin made a detailed report about reconstruction works in the city and its outskirts.
"In particular, the report concerned the construction of new residential districts, social and educational facilities, utility infrastructure and medical centers," the Kremlin press service said.
The president talked to residents of the Nevsky district and visited an apartment upon an invitation from a family living there.
It was the Russian president’s first-ever visit to Donbass.
