MELITOPOL, March 14. /TASS/. Two civilians were hurt in a car blast in Melitopol, and they were taken to the hospital, a spokesman for the local emergency services said on Tuesday.
"A car blast occurred in Melitopol near the Kirovsky market at 6:30 p.m. According to verified information, two civilians - a woman and a man - were wounded. Both were taken to the hospital," the spokesman said.
According to the spokesman, the car was blown up with the use of a makeshift explosive device. Its yield was around one kilogram of TNT, according to Vladimir Rogov, leader of the We Are Together With Russia movement.
"The blast occurred in an ordinary residential district, with no military infrastructure in the vicinity. Obviously, the terrorist attack was meant against the civilian population," the spokesman said.
The local emergency services office reported earlier that a car was blown up near an apartment block in Melitopol.
