Ukrainian shelling kills nearly 4,500 people in DPR since situation escalated

DONETSK, March 13. /TASS/. The Ukrainian armed forces’ shelling attacks have killed almost 4,500 people in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) since February 17, 2022, the DPR mission to the Joint Center for Control and Coordination of issues related to Ukrainian war crimes said on Monday.

"As many as 677 civilians, including 28 children, were killed in the territory within the borders established before the start of the special military operation in the 389 days of escalation. As many as 3,780 civilians, including 106 kids, were killed in areas liberated during the special military operation. A total of 4,457 [people] were killed, including 134 [children]," the mission said in a statement on Telegram.

According to the mission, 4,195 people, including 272 kids, suffered wounds. As many as 94 people stepped on Lepestok landmines.

The attacks damaged over 10,000 homes and almost 2,500 civilian infrastructure facilities.

"A total of 16,164 shelling attacks were recorded, of which 15,832 involved heavy weapons. The enemy fired 103,035 munitions, including 39 Tochka-U rockets, 247 HIMARS rockets, 20 Smerch rockets, and 258 Uragan rockets," the mission specified.
