The press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation said that many countries see Russia as the initiator of this process and share such approaches

MOSCOW, February 28. /TASS/. The world is on its way toward multipolarity without any caste division, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said in an interview with Izvestia published on Tuesday.

"The entire world is obviously moving toward multipolarity, toward a system of relations where there is not any caste of `civilized nations’ and all the rest," Peskov said, adding that the world was currently in the early stages of going through a "long and painful" path toward that.

"Lots of countries view Russia as the initiator of this process. <…> Quite a few countries share this stance with us. And here, we have been in lockstep with the international community, and it is important for Russia to build such a system of relations," he added.

Peskov refused to say whether such a system should be enshrined in new international agreements or whether a certain structure should be established to replace the United Nations. However, he said that the UN was "being undermined by such countries as the United States and European nations" who he said had been imposing more sanctions on Russia than on the rest of the world in violation of international law.
