"We are deeply disappointed by this decision that follows the anti-Russian course of the collective West, led by Washington, made, no doubt, under order from the senior ally. […] South Korea’s unfriendly actions will affect not only the entire complex of bilateral ties, but the quality of cooperation between the two countries on Korean settlement," Maria Zakharova said
MOSCOW, February 27. /TASS/. Russia is deeply disappointed by South Korea’s decision to expand its anti-Russian trade sanctions, and this step will after the bilateral cooperation on the Korean settlement, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said in a commentary published Monday.
The diplomat noted the decision made by the South Korean government to expand the list of products that are subjected to exports control before being shipped to Russia, which now includes additional 741 positions (machines, ball bearings, heat exchangers, oil and gas processing equipment, etc.).
"We are deeply disappointed by this decision that follows the anti-Russian course of the collective West, led by Washington, made, no doubt, under order from the senior ally. […] South Korea’s unfriendly actions will affect not only the entire complex of bilateral ties, but the quality of cooperation between the two countries on Korean settlement," she said.
The spokeswoman added that this step has one again demonstrated "the limitation of Seoul’s ability to carry out an independent policy on the Russian direction."
"This will, undoubtedly, harm the Russian-Korean cooperation, which has already been seriously damaged after South Korea joint the first sanctions package of the collective West," the spokeswoman concluded.
