According to Russia’s top diplomat, the West is "obsessed" with its ambitions for a unipolar world order and has been "grossly violating" the principle of the sovereign equality of nations

MOSCOW, February 15. /TASS/. Russia’s updated foreign policy concept will outline the need to do away with the West’s international dominance, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Larvov said on Wednesday.

"Our updated foreign policy concept will call for the need to end the West’s monopoly on shaping the framework of international life, which should henceforth be determined not on its selfish interests, but on a fair, universal balance of interests, as required by the UN Charter, which enshrines the principle of sovereign equality of all states," Lavrov told the State Duma.

According to Russia’s top diplomat, the West is "obsessed" with its ambitions for a unipolar world order and has been "grossly violating" the principle of the sovereign equality of nations. "The United States and their allies have been maniacally striving to revive the neocolonial, unipolar world order to prevent the unbiased process of establishing and promoting new world centers," Lavrov said.

He referred to Russian President Vladimir Putin’s speech in late September as he said this was in further pursuit of "plundering the world and collecting tribute from humanity."
