Kremlin reveals why Kiev halted ceasefire talks in spring 2022
"We are talking about the very document that was agreed upon as a result of very difficult negotiations and that was even ratified," Dmitry Peskov said
MOSCOW, February 13. /TASS/. Ukrainian authorities stopped peace talks last spring suddenly, "on orders from above," Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Monday.
That is how the Kremlin spokesman commented on remarks by Belarusian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Anatoly Glaz that interference from the West was the reason the negotiation process between Moscow and Kiev was interrupted.
"We've been telling you this for six or seven months now. And President [Vladimir] Putin has talked about this at various levels. We are talking about the very document that was agreed upon as a result of very difficult negotiations and that was even ratified," Peskov said. "Actually, then suddenly, as if ordered from above, from the very top, the Ukrainian side left the negotiating table, gave up communication," he noted, stressing that Moscow said this more than once.
