LUGANSK, February 6. /TASS/. Russian forces gained more advantageous sites near Seversk in the Donetsk People’s Republic in their active advance in Donbass, Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR) people’s militia retired Lieutenant-Colonel Andrey Marochko told TASS on Monday.

"Over the past weekend, the situation for Ukrainian troops deteriorated considerably in the area of the community of Seversk. Our forces took more advantageous frontiers and positions in their active offensive operations, which helped them control new terrain sections and deliver more effective strikes on the enemy," he said.

The LPR people’s militia retired lieutenant-colonel said on February 3 that the Kiev regime’s troops entrenched in the area of Seversk that was previously part of the Ukrainian military’s continuous defensive line together with Artyomovsk (called Bakhmut in Ukraine) and Soledar could be encircled soon.
