Nuclear power should stay out of politics, says Rosatom
On Sunday, Ukraine imposed sanctions against Russia's nuclear complex
MOSCOW, February 6. /TASS/. Rosatom believes that nuclear power should be kept out of politics, the state corporation said in a statement published on Monday.
"We are convinced that nuclear power should stay out of politics. Rosatom operates transparently on a global scale, in the interests of customers and partners and in strict compliance with international obligations and national legislation," Rosatom said in a statement.
On Sunday, Ukraine imposed sanctions against Russia's nuclear complex, including Rosatom Corporation, as well as the Federal State Unitary Enterprise Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant (NPP).
The enterprise was created in Russia in October 2022 under Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin’s order. The company's head office is located in Moscow.
The Zaporozhye NPP is the largest nuclear power plant in Europe and has six VVER-1000 power units.
