New test sites for drones may appear in Russia

MOSCOW, January 31. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin has instructed to consider expanding the range of test sites where experiments with drones can take place.

Such an item is contained in the list of presidential assignments posted on Tuesday on the Kremlin’s website. "The issue to be considered on the expansion of the list of territories where experiments with the use of unmanned aerial systems are held," the document reads.

The deadline for the assignment is September 1, 2023. The assignment was given to the Russian Government in cooperation with the Artificial Intelligence Alliance and other stakeholders.

Putin also tasked them to ensure amendments in standards preventing the rollout of artificial intelligence technologies in the economy and the social sphere. Other measures are to be taken as required to create conditions for testing self-driving technologies of motor, rail, air and water transport.

Creation of more comfortable conditions for exports of indigenous products made with the use of artificial intelligence technologies is among other assignments.
