Senior Russian diplomat, US ambassador discuss arms control on Tuesday

This was Ryabkov’s second meeting with Tracy since she assumed the position of US ambassador to Moscow

MOSCOW, January 31. /TASS/. Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov and US Ambassador to Russia Lynne Tracy discussed arms control issues at a meeting on Tuesday, according to the Russian Foreign Ministry.

The two diplomats "discussed some pressing issues of arms control at the meeting," Russia’s diplomatic agency said.

This was Ryabkov’s second meeting with Tracy since she assumed the position of US ambassador to Moscow. On Monday, the new US envoy presented copies of her diplomatic credentials to the Russian deputy foreign minister.

Tracy is the first woman to serve as US ambassador to Russia. She is a career diplomat. Until recently, she had been serving as Washington’s envoy to Armenia.
