Wagner fighters partially control Chasov Yar - Artyomovsk road, says DPR official

There were already instances when Russian forces destroyed the enemy’s equipment moving alone that route but it is early to talk about full control of that area by gunfire

DONETSK, January 30. /TASS/. Fighters from Russia’s Wagner private military company are partially controlling the road from Chasov Yar to Artyomovsk (called Bakhmut in Ukraine) used by the Ukrainian military as a supply route, Yan Gagin, military-political expert and adviser to the acting head of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), told TASS on Monday.

"Wagner fighters are in partial control of that road. Battles are raging for full control of that supply route," he said.

There were already instances when Russian forces destroyed the enemy’s equipment moving alone that route but it is early to talk about full control of that area by gunfire. The road’s full control will enable the Russian troops to block the enemy battlegroup and deprive it of the possibility to redeploy reserves, he added.

Acting DPR Head Denis Pushilin said earlier on Monday that the Chasov Yar - Artyomovsk road was one of the few remaining supply routes for the Ukrainian military in Artyomovsk and cutting it off was a priority for Russian forces.
