No meaningful discussions between Russia, NATO, due to bloc ending dialogue — Kremlin
Having mentioned that society in Europe has mixed feelings about politicians' decisions to transfer tanks to Ukraine, Dmitry Peskov noted that "everything is clear" on this issue
MOSCOW, January 30. /TASS/. There are no substantive discussions between Russia and NATO at the moment, and what’s more, NATO itself cut off the dialogue at a certain point, Russian Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Monday.
"As for NATO and contact, we don’t have any. You know that, in fact, at one time NATO stopped any kind of meaningful communication with our country. Therefore, it is very difficult to talk about such contact at the moment," Peskov said when asked whether the Kremlin sees the need for contact, including at a high level, with the Alliance against the background of talk of the risks of direct confrontation between Russia and NATO.
Having mentioned that society in Europe has mixed feelings about politicians' decisions to transfer tanks to Ukraine, the Kremlin spokesman noted that "everything is clear" on this issue. "You know that in all European countries, there are certain circles in society that oppose actions that would lead to a growing degree of involvement of these countries in the conflict surrounding Ukraine. Indeed, there are such social forces in many countries, and they speak openly about it," Peskov pointed out.
