Diplomat hits out at NATO chief’s remark about bloc not being party to Ukraine conflict

According to Maria Zakharova, NATO and the collective West have been waging a proxy war against Russia, using the Kiev regime, because they have been manipulating peace talks

MOSCOW, January 27. /TASS/. Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova castigated as false the statement by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg who said the North Atlantic Alliance was not a party to the conflict in Ukraine.

Asked to comment on Stoltenberg’s remark, Zakharova said, "This is pure, criminal hypocrisy, and not just dodging an inconvenient question or an inconvenient issue, these are pure lies. We have been hearing these statements since the very onset of the current developments in Ukraine, but the West’s real actions suggest the opposite."

In fact, NATO and the collective West have been waging a proxy war against Russia, using the Kiev regime, because they have been manipulating peace talks, Zakharova added.

According to the Russian diplomat, the West has been providing Kiev with "weapons and military hardware, training Ukrainian servicemen and pumping money into Ukraine" so that it continues fighting against Russia.
