US Treasury sanctions Russian Deputy PM Manturov, head of Tatarstan Minnikhanov

Alexander Kharichev, head of the Office of the President of the Russian Federation for ensuring the activities of the State Council, also fell under the restrictions

WASHINGTON, January 26. /TASS/. The US Treasury Department added head of the republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, Deputy Prime Minister and Industry and Trade Ministry of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov and a number of other persons to the sanctions lists for Russia.

"OFAC also sanctioned Rustam Nurgaliyevich Minnikhanov, a Russian national and the chairman of the board of U.S.-designated Tupolev Public Joint Stock Company, which produces strategic bombers for Russia’s armed forces. Minnikhanov is also the longtime head of Tatarstan, a federal subject of the Russian Federation," the statement says.

In addition to the head of Tatarstan, the sanctioned list published on the website of the US Treasury, includes Deputy Prime Minister and Industry and Trade Ministry of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov, head of the Federal Penitentiary Service Arkady Gostev, as well as Minnikhanov's wife Gulsina and the Luciano company, which is associated with her.

Alexander Kharichev, head of the Office of the President of the Russian Federation for ensuring the activities of the State Council, also fell under the restrictions.

Getting on the sanctions list means freezing assets in the United States and a ban on American citizens or companies from doing business with sanctioned persons.
