West getting prepared to tamper with elections in Russia — Central Elections Commission
Voting Day will be held in Russia on September 10, 2023
MOSCOW, January 20. /TASS/. The West is getting prepared to disrupt elections in Russia but Russia’s Central Elections Commission (CEC) is trying to be proactive, the Commission’s Chairperson Ella Pamfilova said on Friday.
"We have information about how they are getting prepared abroad. And those who are here, the so-called sleeper cells, who are not sleeping at all, are already working [to discredit elections in Russia]," she said, adding that the Central Election Commission is trying to act proactively, forecasting possible attacks and looking at ways to repel them.
Voting Day will be held in Russia on September 10, 2023. As of late December 2022, more than 4,000 election campaigns are planned for this day to elect more than 34,000 members to local legislatures and local government offices. Twenty-five regions will elect their heads. For the first time, elections will be held in the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, and in the Kherson and Zaporozhye Regions.
